(6 February 2017) “Tale of tales” by Matteo Garrone will be screened at the Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo on 12 February at 19:00. The film is set in the 17th century about a sad queen, two sisters who come up with a story to attract the attention of a king, and a king who organises a tournament in order to marry his daughter. Matteo Garrone loosely based his film on three stories from “Lo cunto de li cunti”, a collection of short stories written between 1500 and 1600 in Neapolitan by Giambattista Basile. “Tale of tales” (125 min), starring Salma Hayek, John C. Reilly, Christian Lees, Alba Rohrwacher, competed for the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Festival in 2015, won three Silver Ribbons and seven David di Donatello. (Red)
