ABOUT / THE PROJECT

Meet the New Italians of New York is a project promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York with the aim to involve the new generation of Italian immigrants and facilitate their participation in the activities of the institutions of the Italian system. The project will consist of a series of meetings – on a monthly basis, to be held at the Consulate General – where the most important representatives of the Italian community, professionally established in the various fields in New York, will meet the young generations of newcomers. event, dedicated to a specific area (art, architecture, fashion, medicine, finance, catering, sport), will be designed as a casual conversation between professionals and young people, offering them the opportunity to discuss their possible career paths. New opportunities and trends are the focus of the meetings. The young audience will be given the opportunity to speak and ask questions, thus following a similar approach to the “mentoring”. Each event will be an opportunity to bring the next generation of the activities of the Italian Consulate, while providing them with the opportunity to interact with those whom, in similar situations, arrived in the United States before and having managed to establish themselves in a city as complex as New York. Through the series of meetings, the Consulate intends to present to the young Italian residents in the tri-state area as a reference point in their integration process and as a place to meet and exchange ideas.
