The Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich was inaugurated February 18, 1950 as the ‘Centro Studi Italiani a Zurigo’ (Zurich Centre for Italian Studies). The Founder and first Director was Professor Arnaldo Bascone, a great cultural figure. The Cultural Institute facilitates and promotes cultural initiatives and exchange between Italy and Switzerland in the fields of: cinema, theatre, literature, visual arts etc. It also carries out the function of providing information on studying Italian language and culture in both Switzerland and Italy.
