Comics: “La forza dell’emozione” by Gipi on exhibition

(16 February 2017) Gian Alfonso Pacinotti, better known as Gipi is a cartoonist, illustrator, filmmaker, and writer. He is the author of the exhibition “La forza delle emozioni” (The power of emotions) inaugurated on Tuesday, February 14 in Brussels at the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée, Belgium’s museum dedicated to Comics. The exhibition will be on view until September 3. It was organised by the Musée de la BD and the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration with Région Bruxelles-Capitale. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about Gipi’s 150 displayed works. (red)


GIPI

Gipi (Gianni Pacinotti) was born in Pisa in 1963. He starts publishing comic strips and short stories on the satirical journal “Cuore”. His first works were published on the monthly “Blue” followed by other Italian publications. He published various books with the Coconino Press: “Esterno Notte”, “Appunti per una storia di Guerra” awarded as best comic of the year at the International Angoulême Festival in 2006. Among his other works are: “Questa è la stanza”, “La serie di Baci dalla provincia”, “S.”, “La mia vita disegnata male”, “L’antologia Diario di fiume”, and “Verticali”. Gipi is also an illustrator for La Repubblica and also collaborates with an international weekly publication. “L’ultimo terrestre” is his debut film, produced by Fandango.
