The Verdi Festival comes back and crosses national borders

(February17, 2017) There is a common thread that unites Parma and Munich, and its name is Giuseppe Verdi. The great festival dedicated to the great Italian composer, which is held every year in October at the Teatro Begin of Parma, will be presented next Wednesday, February 22 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Munich. The Verdi Festival is the only festival dedicated exclusively to the study and production of the works of Giuseppe Verdi. It was inaugurated in 2001, the centenary of the death of Giuseppe Verdi, and since then extraordinary performers were featured in the Festival, including conductors like Bruno Bartoletti, Riccardo Chailly, Daniele Gatti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Antonio Pappano, Yuri Temirkanov and among the directors: Hugo De Ana, Dante Ferretti, Peter Greenaway, Denis Krief, Pier'Alli, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Stefano Poda, Pier Luigi Samaritani, Graham Vick. During the Festival will presented the works of Verdi, concert and operatic concerts not only in the famous Teatro Begin, often feared by singers, but also in the Teatro Farnese and the Teatro Verdi in Busseto.
