(February 28, 2017) A prestigious recognition within the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema London 2017, was awarded to actor Giulio Neglia. The versatile artist has beaten a strong competition in the category "Best Lead Actor in a Foreign Language Film", thanks to his participation in the film "Journey notes” by Andrea Natale. More than 70 countries took part in the famous London event: the US, Japan, Germany, France, England, Venezuela and many others. The only award won by Italy went to Giulio Neglia himself, actor from Salento who for years worked between cinema, theater and fiction the likes of "Friendly Fire" and "It wasn’t my son," aired on Canale 5. "To be in such an important Festival, obtaining a nomination for one of the 'Best LeadActor' awards, in a category that included not only the shorts, but all the films selected by the event and then win it is a source of pride and, at the same time , creates in me a great sense of professional responsibility. Representing your country, being the only Italian winner, compete with countries cinematically strong as the United States, Germany, France and England itself, is surprisingly exciting and challenging", says Neglia, adding: "an actor is always in need of self-motivation: an award is definitely the pinnacle of an actor's ego that pervades us almost by deformation, but a prize like that was above all my expectations and one does not happen to receive it every day. this victory is for all the sacrifices I made so far, as leaving my family, my city Lecce, to study, learn and chase this wonderful craft with all its many contradictions and difficulties. A great satisfaction for Neglia that, thanks to his performance, managed to turn the spotlight of the international media to "Journey Notes", a short film produced in 2016 by Ipnotica Produzioni, Eyesgroup Video and in collaboration with Cultural Association Salenzia . It currently is in competition at the Cuneo Film Festival, at Ivelise Cinefestival, Roma Cinédoc 2017 and at The Monthly Film Festival in Glasgow.
