Exhibitions, “Footprints”: Valentina Colella brings Abruzzo in South Africa

(March 2, 2017) Abruzzo is her mother land and the source of her art. The exhibition Footprints by young Italian artist Valentina Colella (1984) will be presented on Thursday March 9th at the Everard Read art gallery in Johannesburg, 6 Jellicoe Ave, Rosebank. The exhibition, organized with Rainbow Media, the IIC in Pretoria and Italian Foreign Ministry as collateral event within the context of the ‘Project ARP - Art Residency Project 2015-2017’ by Centro Luigi Di Sarro in Rome, is composed by three parts: the first is a 2015 video shot in Campo Imperatore; the second proposes a multi-media work in which the path from Introdacqua - small town which is part of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy - up to a cottage overlooking the Valle Peligna is placed on the map with detection of some topical points, crucial to the locals. Each of these points is accompanied by photos with the signs of the longitude and latitude to allow you to locate places with GPS. The third and final part is the painting, composed of nine works on paper. (PO / Red)
