(3 March 2017) London is preparing to celebrate Italian excellence in design with three events. Occasioned by the Italian Design Day, the Italian Embassy in London, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, the Marangoni Institute and other public and private entities, has in fact organised three events to highlight key sectors of Italian design: supplies, fashion and architecture starting on Monday, March 6 at the Italian Cultural Institute in London. The ICI will host a conference on the architect Mario Bellini, winner of the Golden Compass. Bellini will be presented by the Director of the Institute, Marco Delogu, and will give an overview of his work as an architect and designer. On Wednesday March 8 at the Italian Cultural Institute in London there will be a conference on Italian influence and vision in international architecture moderated by Fabrizio Ballabio: architect, writer and professor at the prestigious Architectural Association School of Architecture of London. Alessandro Zoppini and Viviana Muscettola will also participate in the conference. Finally, on Wednesday March 15, the Marangoni Institute in London will host a Triple “I” conversation (Italian Imaginative Innovators) devoted to furniture design and fashion. Daniela Agnelli, Fashion Editor - at - large of the Telegraph Magazine, will moderate a debate that will feature (Giulio Cappellini / award-winning designer, educator and entrepreneur, founder of the Cappellini furniture brand) and Maurizio Pecoraro (active fashion designer for Versace and Valentino). THE TRIPLE “I”

The triple “I” is the series promoted by the Italian Embassy in London whose purpose is to stimulate an open debate between representatives of the Italian business community characterised by particular characteristics of vision, innovation, specialists of economic and financial topics from the world of media. The event will range between different sectors, from furniture to fashion, while keeping focusing on entrepreneurship in contemporary design. The Italian Design Day involves the entire Italian diplomatic and consular network and Italian Cultural Institutes in the world. It is sponsored by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Triennale di Milano, ICE, Istituto Marangoni, RAI and institutions. The Italian Design Day will promote Italian contemporary design highlighting its excellence. For this occasion, in approximately 100 locations around the world, 100 "Ambassadors" will discuss their experience and the latest trends in Italian design.
