Young designers narrate the Italian talent

(March 3, 2017) The Italian design celebrated in the Czech Republic. For the first World Italian Design Day (March 2), it was inaugurated in the Moravian Gallery in Brno an exhibition on Italian design which will remain open for four days and it will be accompanied by workshops and public presentations with attending artists. The event, organized by the Italian Embassy in Prague and Kogaa design studio, braught in the Moravian town six young designers from Milan and Madrid with an installation and "visual suggestions" repertoire. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Italian Ambassador in the Czech Republic, Aldo Amati, the Governor of Moravia, Bohumil Simek, and the Mayor of Brno, Petr Vokral. In his greeting speech, Ambassador Amati stressed the positive cultural interactions between the artists and their Czech counterparts with whom they will collaborate in these days, as well as the relevance of the showcase, that will be able to bring to the general attention the artistic expressions of some of the best young italian talents. The Italian diplomat also focused on the renewed attention of the Italian system towards Moravia that will materialize by the end of the year, in a concert of film music of the most famous Italian composers revisited in jazz style, in a film festival and in an economic forum, which will be attended by Czech and Italian companies in the fields of mechatronics, economy 4.0 and pharmaceutical industry. ABOUT / THE EXHIBITION


At the center of the exhibition inaugurated in Brno, central elements of a kaleidoscopic plot of shapes and images that testify for the full inclusion of the figure of the designer in the contemporary society and the contamination between design and production realities. Particular satisfaction was expressed by the director of the gallery, Jan Press, who has pledged to revive the initiative in the coming years, also thanks to the visibility and interest felt from the public opinion of the Moravian capital.
