(6 March 2017) Around midnight on August 31^st of 1944, the famous explorer Bill Tilman was airdropped by the Allies over the Dolomites in the Belluno area. With two million liras in his pockets to finance the guerrilla, he reached his operating position alongside the partisans of the "Gramsci" brigade under the command of Bruno ... Marco Albino Ferrari will present his new book " “Il sentiero degli eroi. Dolomiti 1944. Una storia di Resistenza” (The path of the heroes. The Dolomites in 1944. A History of Resistance) (Rizzoli) in Vienna at Hartliebs Bücher. The event, moderated by Michele Morosini, was organised in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and will take place on Thursday, March 16^th at 19:30. Mountain lovers,especially those with enough patience and passion know that in addition to the most well-known peaks and their eternal perfection - there are lesser known peaks and hidden valleys that offer the same beauty. Marco Albino Ferrari, an expert on mountain literature and a narrator of great mountainous endeavours, has the ability to identify and extract lesser-known “minor” stories certainly not for their value but to share them to his readers with the attention and emphasis they deserve.
