Photography,

(March 7, 2017) Browse, discover, evaluate and narrate. Investigate with alert eyes the life that flows through our cities: this is the intent of the photographic exhibition entitled "Humans" which will be staged from March 23 to April 26 at the Background gallery in Barcelona. Among the featured photographers Sergio Battista, which will exhibit two photographs taken from his vast personal portfolio. For Battista "photography is trapping a feeling, a sensation". He knows that "it is not easy, but sometimes you succeed". The artist explains the Street Photography: "At first sight it is a kind of photography that relates to the representation of our cities, our urban conglomerates, but if we go a bit 'deeper and look with our mind and not only with our eyes, in the images of street photography we find a microcosm of relations between people, between people and urban spaces, between man and history. Events that tell us about loneliness, alienation, new customs and all that we often fail to grasp when we cross, panting and full of pressing commitments, our cities". At "Humans" the photographer will be present with two images: Prospect in London, a black and white tacked 50x33 format that represents a cross-section of London's active life, under the stern gaze of the Tower Bridge, and Liquid contemporaneity, a color image printed in 24x36 "where I tried - explains Battista - to stop the idea of liquidity in contemporary society, citing Bauman, its inherent elusiveness, its constant movement that no longer grants the landmarks of the past".
