Calabria and Tunisia closer and closer thanks to the Kid's Festival

(March 27, 2017) From Sarajevo to Tunis, passing through Caccuri (Crotone province): the network of contacts between the countries involved in the adventure of the Kid's Festival is getting closer and Calabria becomes the protagonist of the dialogue in the Mediterranean. In 2016, the Kid's Festival had its first Italian edition just in Caccuri, organized in the frame of the Literary Prize Caccuri and under the patronage of Caccuriani: through this event - born in 2004 in Sarajevo at the initiative of Susanne Prahl, current international President of the Kid's Festival, and involving children in many countries - the way has been laid for closer cooperation between the municipality of Caccuri and the town of Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia. In 2016 M. Raouf Dakhlaoui, mayor of the Tunisian town, accompanied the Tunisian delegation of the Kid's Festival in Caccuri and on that occasion it was signed by the mayor, Marianna Caligiuri, a partnership and friendship agreement between the two municipalities. Next April 9, during the fourth edition of the Tunisia Kid's Festival, which will be held in Sidi Bou Said, the mayor of Caccuri will reciprocate the visit, accompanying a Kids Italian festival delegation in Tunisia, and in an official capacity, will reaffirm the will to build a solid and lasting partnership agreement. The meeting will be held in Tunisia in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Tunisia, Raimondo De Cardona. The promoters of this initiative, Ramzi Labidi and Manuelita Scigliano, respectively in charge of the Kid's Festival Tunisia and the Kid's Festival Italy, are hoping that the initiative will lead quickly to concrete actions of international cooperation between the two municipalities and, consequently, between the two regions involved. ABOUT / AN INSTRUMENT OF DIALOGUE

The Kid's Festival becomes a tool for dialogue between peoples, active cooperation, participation in building a future of exchange and shares. The Mediterranean as a place of meetings takes on the color of the event, of dreams and of children's drawings, their masks, costumes, banners, dances and shows.
