(18 April, 2017) The Slow Food fair is preparing to celebrate its 11th anniversary (April 20-23) in Stuttgart. It is the leading event of the Slow Food association in Germany: an expo-fair in which small producers introduce themselves to a private audience strongly oriented towards purchasing and interested in high quality food. Italy is present with a record participation number of 143 specialty food producers selected and coordinated by the Italian-German Chamber of Commerce across 8 collective stands set up with the support of advertising companies and consortia of different Italian regions. In addition to the already established presence of Sicily, Marche, and Emilia Romagna; this year’s Slow Food Fair will also showcase Tuscan excellences of the Strada del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Another important novelty this year is Basilicata’s participation which – in collaboration with the Associazione Lucana di Stoccarda (Lucanian Association of Stuttgart) – has decided to focus on the Slow Food expo.
THE REBIRTH OF CENTRAL ITALY
The attendance of a numerous delegation of central Italian companies confirms the tenacity of this particular region which was struck by an earthquake last summer. Despite difficulties, it has decided to participate in the fair. The Cooperativa della Lenticchia di Castelluccio di Norcia, among others, bears witness to the rebirth of a territory rich in resources.
