Mediterranean's photographic stories on display at Italian Cultural Institute

(April 27 2017) Prague Italian Cultural Institute opens today in its baroque chapel, in the presence of Ambassador Aldo Amati, the exhibition "Mediterranean. A story of images, poetry and music". A photo selection focused on the Mediterranean area, chosen on the basis of a project by Photography department of the University of Genoa and realized by the Association "Renzo Aiolfi "of Savona, Embassy of Italy and Italian Cultural Institute. As written in the catalog, the director of the Institute Giovanni Sciola said "It is not just an exhibition of photographs centered on the Mediterranean area and its cultures, but is also a path that connects images, poetry and live music and recovers and enhances the contribution of Ligurian poets (some of them as Eugenio Montale, Giorgio Caproni, Camillo Sbarbaro, are part of the great Italian literary tradition) as well as the echoes of the music of some Genoa's historical songwriters". Fourteen young photographers have been involved in the project, each according to their sensitivity, they tells how the Mediterranean has always been a mediation area and it has represented, since ancient times, a sort of laboratory of singular cultural, ethnic, artistic twists where cultures are known, meet, change and contaminate. The photographers on display (Paola Bernini, Alessandra Caneva, Ilenio Celoria, Francesca Donadini, Federica Giannotta, Giuseppe Gotelli, Claudia Oliva, Francesca Parodi, Roberto Pistone, Antonietta Preziuso, Adolfo Ranise, Marina Rossi, Stefania Vassura and Matteo Zavattoni) collaborate or attended the Photography Course promoted by the Polytechnic School of the University of Genoa.
