(5 May 2017) "A Night of Literature" is a night filled with words and culture aimed at promoting European literature on Wednesday 10 May (from 17:00 to 22:00) hosted in Sofia along with other 11 cities. Italy will also be the protagonist in the 6th edition of "A Night of Literature". The Bulgarian actress Veselina Raeva will read excerpt from Elena Ferrante's "My Brilliant Friend". During the evening, the audience will enjoy a large number of contemporary European novels in 20 different reading spaces. The space reserved for the Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia - the organising force behind the event in collaboration with EUNIC (National Institutes of Culture of the European Union) - is located in the Conference Room of the Theatre and Cinema Academy.

THE PROGRAMME

How does the event work? At "A Night of Literature", each half an hour, a speaker from the world of show business will read excerpts from European authors translated into Bulgarian. This takes place in the so-called "reading nests". In each nest, a reading takes place and visitors can collect stamps. At approximately 21.30 in the Marionette Theatre in Gurko Street No.14, those who have collected at least 5 stamps will be able to take part in the raffle for the books featured in the nests. The event takes place in 12 different cities simultaneously. For more information, see details of the programme at: www.noshtnaliteraturata.bg
