(May 31, 2017) The Palombella Association of Brussels in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture organized a meeting with Enrico Letta on Tuesday June 6. The former Italian Prime Minister will be interviewed by Andrea Bonanni, a Repubblica journalist. At the center of the event "Raising Europe in a Stormed World", which will be held at Iic's headquarters, the themes of his latest book titled "Against Winds and Tides. Ideas on Europe and Italy" (Mulino, 2017). Letta's text was born at the dawn of two days that, with Brexit and Trump's election, changed our history. We are faced with challenges whose impact on Italy and Europe can be traced back to the turn of the year 1989. As shocking as these events are, they can open new and even fascinating opportunities for Europe. (Red)

Enrico Letta has been the Italian Prime Minister in 2013 and 2014, several times Minister, European and Italian MP. In 2015 he resigned from the House of Representatives to assume the Dean position at the International Affairs School of the SciencesPo University in Paris. He is chairman of the Jacques Delors Institute. Among his publications for Il Mulino, "Europe at twenty-five" (2006).
