Pistoletto brings his “Terzo Paradiso” in Bosnia and Herzegovina

(June 2, 2017) The Prime Minister of the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdic, received yesterday a visit from Michelangelo Pistoletto, one of the most important Italian artists in the world, protagonist in the 1960s of the Arte Povera movement and for the third time in Sarajevo. The artist, on the initiative of the Embassy of Italy and on the occasion of the Italian Republic Day, presented on June 2 his work "Terzo Paradiso" (Third Paradise) in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Zvizdic received Master Pistoletto with Italian Ambassador Nicola Minasi. On that occasion Pistoletto announced his intention to give to Sarajevo one of his most important works, "The Multiconfessional Cube", which is part of the third phase of development of the contemporary art collection Ars Aevi, present in Sarajevo. Prime Minister Zvizdic thanked the Italian artist for the great performance on Skenderija Square, which involved 400 young people from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who took part in the creation of his work "Terzo Paradiso". Master Pistoletto thanked the premier for the hospitality that the city of Sarajevo offered him for the third time and for the opportunity to realize this work of art with young people from different cities of Bosnia. ABOUT / TERZO PARADISO

Terzo Paradiso is a symbol of the Infinite, reworked by Pistoletto by adding a large central circle, conceived as a device for transformation and rebirth for a new humanity. Sarajevo will thus become part of the world cities where the "Terzo Paradiso" was realized, which represents an idea of unity between the artificial world and the natural world aimed at a concrete harmonization of opposites.
