(June 5, 2017) In the heart of Serbia the "Splendor of the Renaissance": this is the title of the exhibition that will take place from June 7 to 30 at the Museum of the City of Belgrade, promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture in collaboration with "King Studio" by Fausto Fornasari and the Museum. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday, June 7 at 6.30 pm and will be open every day (except Mondays from 11am to 7pm). The basic idea of the exhibition, a true "ambassador of Italy" in the world born in 1989 in Mantua, is to revive a part of the Renaissance that has disappeared and now one can only imagine through the figurative material. The precious fabrics of the Renaissance and Baroque, the sumptuous ceremonial dresses for the great parties at Italian courts and the decorative elements that were created on such occasions are no longer visible, if not in a few and deteriorated original pieces preserved in some museums. CARD / SET UP

The exhibition's set up features more than 30 ceremonial dresses reconstructed through the study of Renaissance paintings side to side with the photographic reproduction of the reference painting. The costumes on display, the result of years of research and work on materials and techniques, have unique characteristics of beauty and preciousness, are the true masterpieces of Italian textile companies and craftsmanship, and testify to a quality level that only Italian manufacturers and artisans are able to reach. To complete the exhibition is the "Banquet of the Prince", a scene featuring a special space as if it were the hall of a Renaissance palace decorated to receive banquet guests. An imposing wall-hanging appliance, a table with pottery and decorative elements and a display plate are the main elements of this part of the exhibition that allow the visitor to approach another important aspect of the Italian culture of the past: the food culture aspect .
