(7 June 2017) The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" under the direction of Maestro Davide Crescenzi for the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival) on June 21st followed by Astor Piazzolla’s "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" featuring soloist Luca Marziali on the violin. The event - promoted with the Italian Institute of Culture of Cairo - will take place in the prestigious Cairo Opera House at 21:00. The Music Festival is a popular event held every June 21st to celebrate the summer solstice. Established in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique promoted by the Ministry of Culture invites all musicians, professionals, and amateurs to play in the streets of the cities every year. DAVIDE CRESCENZI
Davide Crescenzi started his studies at the Conservatory of Fermo and later graduated with a degree in Band Instrumentation, Choral Music, and Choir at the "G.Rossini" Conservatory in Pesaro. For several years, he has been an assistant and collaborator of Alessio Vlad and a student of Gustav Khunn, with whom he attended the "Pomeriggi Musicali" (Musical Afternoons) in Milan from 1993 to 1996. After a twenty-year-long career, he is an established pianist and a substitute orchestra director in various theatres, festivals, and currently works as an orchestra and choir director in Italy and abroad. Among his most significant commitments is his collaboration with the Cairo Opera House, where he has worked as a guest director between 1998 and 2003. He directed "The Barber of Seville", "Opportunity Makes a Thief", "The Bill of Marriage", and "Mr. Bruschino" by Gioacchino Rossini; "The Elixir of Love" by Donizetti, "Tosca" by Puccini, and "A Masked Ball" by Verdi.
