The Embassy meets fashion: meeting with five Italian fashionistas

(June 8, 2017) "Embassy meets fashion" is the title of the event, scheduled for June 23 to June 18 at the Italian Embassy in Berlin. With the moderation of journalist Maria Latella, five young Italian fashionistas active in Berlin will tell about their professional and personal paths between Italy, Germany and international markets. How and where did they start their career? What prompted them to explore the fashion industry in Berlin? What advantages does German capital offer them and what difficulties do they have? What does it mean today to be a fashionista, moving along the now fluid and permeable border between fashion and design? The Ambassador of Italy in Berlin, Pietro Benassi, will welcome and present the five young Italians - Andrea Bonfini, Nicola Gomiero, Ludovica Diligu, Beatrice Paola Ruffini and Alessia Flavia Vitale - in a meeting that will take the form of a public interview in Italian, open to participants' questions. Their stories testify that Made in Italy is above all beauty expressed through culture, creativity and elegance. Fashion and Design are two sectors of the creative industry that have made Italy famous in the world. But in recent decades the separation of careers between stylists and designers was clear, in recent years there has been mutual contamination between these two worlds, shared by the same fundamental objective: the search for the beautiful and well done, a virtuous synthesis between the concreteness of traditional craftsmanship and an unbridled spirit of experimentation, the ambition of creating a product that, by its functionality and originality, can leave the mark in contemporary culture. Berlin, a city that has always been open to experimentation, hybridization and dialogue between different experiences, is proposed as a new European capital for the 21st century. "The Embassy meets fashion" is organized by the Italian Embassy in Berlin with the collaboration of Macromedia University of Applied Sciences. (PO / Red)
