From the Dolomites to the Andes: Chile and Trentino, two complementary economies

(June 13, 2017) Chile and Trentino: two geographically distant but economically and culturally complementary lands. The South American country, leader in the export of raw materials such as copper and cellulose, is in fact a major importer of high-value Italian machinery, essential for mining and for the development of local industry. Many are the investment opportunities in the Andes for Trentino companies active in the fields of mechanics, energy, infrastructure, food industry, electrical equipment and plastic and chemical products that will be presented on Wednesday, June 14, starting at 4.15 pm at Polo Meccatronica in Rovereto, during the round table organized by Trentino Sviluppo in collaboration with the Province of Trento, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Chile in Trentino Alto Adige and Santiago Italtrade. Its robust economy based on mining, political-institutional stability, intense diplomatic relations with Europe and the signing of 26 trade agreements that give access to 64 markets, or about 86.3% of the world GDP, Make Chile a solid landmark for Italian companies that intend to grow and invest overseas. Great affinity also from a cultural point of view: Chile is the fifth largest Italian community in Latin America and boasts two nationally-run daily newspapers in Italian. In the capital Santiago and in the cities of La Serena and Copiapò there are also three Trentino circles, which aim to preserve the traditions that emigrants of those valleys brought with them more than a century ago. ABOUT / THE PROGRAM

During the meeting, Chilean honorary consul in Trentino Alto Adige Aldo Albasini will illustrate the country system as a whole, while Italtrade Director in Santiago Enrico Condemi will focus on the main investment and export opportunities in the South American state. Aldo Rozzi Marin, of the law firm Rozzi Marin & Partners, will, instead, cover the legal framework for such operations. Two Trentino companies active in the field of environment and production of polyethylene fittings for gas and water distribution, which have opened a home in the South American country, will share their experience. At the end of the event, participating companies will have customized meetings to deepen the Chilean market outlook according to their product specifics.
