Tribute to Lucio Dalla

(15 June 2017) The docu-fiction "Caro Lucio ti scrivo" - freely inspired by the same theatre play written by Cristiano Governa for the direction of Riccardo Marchesini -travels to Brussels. The film will be screened on Monday, June 19th at 21:00 at the Italian Institute of Culture in the presence of the director, Marchesini. Marchesini will present the objective of the project which is to change the perspective around the narrative of a legend such as Lucio Dalla. Between imagination and reality, it is fact the protagonists of some of the most beautiful songs of Lucio Dalla, who talk about him. What of Anna and Marco? Who is Futura, and why was she given this name? What of the "caro amico" (dear friend) to whom Lucio writes in his song "L'anno che verrà"? The documentary film explores discover Lucio Dalla in the context of his native Bologna from an unprecedented point of view: that of his "children". And, of course, Lucio's immortal musical notes. The film arrived to Italian cinemas on March 8th on the occasion of the birth and the fifth anniversary of the death of the famous Bolognese songwriter. (Red)

THE DOCUMENTARY

The "Caro Lucio ti scrivo" project overrides the usual narrative perspective: this time it will not be about listening to the testimonies and stories of the life of the genius of Dalla, but instead to directly speak with the protagonists of the stories in his music. Thus Anna and Marco, Futura, Meri Luis, the "caro amico" from "L'anno che verrà" come to life; as well as the star-crossed lovers in "La casa" (house) by the sea and a young man who represents that generation masterfully described in "Com'è profondo il mare" (The depth of the sea). It is through the voices of exceptional artists - Ambra Angiolini, Alessandro Benvenuti, Piera Degli Esposti, Neri Marcore, Ottavia Piccolo, Andrea Roncato, Grazia Verasani - to reveal what happened at the end of those songs, how they changed their lives after we heard of them, revealing the secret "to be able to laugh it off, to continue to hope".
