(15 June 2017) Everything is ready in Sao Paulo for the concert of Sicilian pianist and composer, Orazio Sciortino organised by the Italian Institute Culture of Sao Paulo in collaboration with Unibes Cultural is on Monday June 19th at 18:00 at Teatro Maria de Lourdes Sekeff (Instituto de Artes by Unesp - Rua Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz 271 - Barra Funda). Born in Syracuse 32 years ago Sciortino debuted in 2011 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, as director and soloist, performing in the first modern performance the Fumagalli Piano and Orchestra Concerto, rediscovered by Sciortino himself, accompanied by the orchestra of the Cameristi of the Scala of Milan. For some time, he has performed on prestigious stages and has recently travelled to Poland, Germany, Austria, Kenya, Spain, Serbia, Switzerland, Malta, France, Canada, Serbia, Scotland, Lebanon, Jordan, Lithuania, Romania, Saudi Arabia. His album "Wagner & Verdi piano transcriptions by Tausig & Liszt", released by Sony Classical in 2013, has received prestigious awards from specialised critics and the Cinque Stelle of the "Music" magazine. Sciortino's work has led him to perform all over the world including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Verdi Sala del Conservatorio in Milan and the Greek Theater in Syracuse, Sicily.
