(19 June 2017) For Alirio Diaz, world famous guitarist Simone Onnis represents "one of the happiest guitarists in the world." And now the Italian star is preparing to make a stop in Germany. On Wednesday, June 21th at 19:00, the Sardinian guitarist will perform on the stage of the Italian Institute of Culture in Hamburg. He will perform compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mauro Giuliani, Franz Schubert, Manuel Maria Ponce, Johann Kaspar Mertz and Francisco Tárrega. Onnis began his concert career at a very young age and has toured in many countries. He has performed throughout Europe, the two Americas, the Middle East and Asia. He has also made it on the stages of the most prestigious venues and theaters including Rudolfinum (Prague), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Stadttheater (Basel), Wolfsburg Castle, Assembly Hall - AUB American University of Beirut (Lebanon) National Minsk (Belarus), and the Austrian Hospice (Jerusalem), The Sheung Wan Civic Centre (Hong Kong).


IMPORTANT MILESTONES

Simone Onnis was born in Cagliari in 1975 and began his musical career at a very young age. At the age of 22, he was chosen by legendary Venezuelan guitarist Alirio Diaz as an assistant in international high level guitar training courses. He teaches guitar at the Civic School of Music in Cagliari, is often invited to perform abroad representing Italy, and has performed with renowned symphony orchestras and chamber groups including: Weber Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, String Quartet of the Scala of Milan. In recent years he has travelled to New York, London, Beijing, Budapest, Tel Aviv, Damascus, and Chigago.
