William Tatge is a talented Italian jazz pianist who has been living in the Big Apple for many years.  Born in Foligno in 1978 to American parents, he spent his first years in Todi and then moved to Florence and finally arrived in New York in 2008. Tatge studied piano for jazz and improvisation with the likes of Stefano Bollani, Stefano Battaglia, Franco D'Andrea, Paolo Birro and Enrico Pieranunzi. At the IIC, he will perform with Pablo Menares (bass) and Nick Anderson (on drums). In 2009, the Italian pianist released his first album as leader, "Mutable Enclosures" and received wide acclaim "All About Jazz and Jazz Review". In 2012 he collaborated with Christine Meisner's multimedia artist to create "Disquieting Nature", a video project that has to do with the landscape, history, and music of the Mississippi delta. In 2014, Tatge recorded the album "Borderlands" with the Last Call quartet together with Stefano Tamborrino, Francesco Ponticelli and Dan Kinzelman. The album was released in 2015 by the Auditorium Parco della Musica label and a new trio album with Pablo Menares and Nick Anderson is in the works. (Red)
