Music, jazz in the spotlight with Ra-di-ci q.tet

(July 3, 2017) Jazz in the spotlight at the Italian Cultural Institute of Munich (Hermann-Schmid-Straße 8, 80336). On July 4 at the Iic is scheduled a Ra-di-ci q.tet concert, which will see together on the stage Angelo Olivieri (trumpet), Stefano Negri (tenor saxophone), Luigi Di Chiappari (piano ), Riccardo Di Fiandra (bass) and Fabio Casentini (drums). The music quintet was born with the need to let jazz coexist with the founding element of Italian music culture, the melody. The current trend of jazz is to exhilarate the rhythmic and harmonic aspects, losing in fact the melodic aspect that was decisive in New Orleans music. Starting from the recovery of blues and spirituals in a contemporary fashion, a musical discourse has been developed, seeing the roots of African-American music coexist with the essential element of Italian tradition. ABOUT / REPERTOIRE

In the repertoire of the quintet live the great classics of the jazz tradition such as St James Infirmary, Go down Moses, St Louis Blues, Gershwin and Kurt Weill's passages in which European influence is even more evident, but also compositions of contemporary authors that have in themselves both the blues print and a strong melodic sense, in addition to original compositions of the quintet components.
