Conversation between cinema and art: a rendezvous with Giulia Cenci

(4 July 2017) Wednesday, July 5 (at 20:00) at the Italian Institute of Culture in Amsterdam (Keizersgracht 564), the focus will be on talent, creativity, and inspiration. Especially with regards to cinema and contemporary art. In fact, the IIC continues the "Artist Talk" series featuring Italian artists who are asked to talk about their work in relation to the suggestions generated by their favorite filmmakers and directors. The main event of the 2017 edition will be Giulia Cenci, who will present a selection of his works, as well as some sequences from films considered a source of inspiration and reflection: "Solaris" by Andrej Tarkovskij, "Le Temps du Loup" by Michael Haneke and "The Lobster "by Yorgos Lanthimos. In dialogue with Giulia Cenci is the curator Alessandra Laitempergher and filmmaker and film critic Massimo Benvegnú. (Red)


GIULIA CENCI


Giulia Cenci (Cortona, 1988) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (Italy) and received a Master in Fine Arts at the St. Joost Academy in Den Bosch (Netherlands). She currently resides at De Ateliers in Amsterdam, with the support of Mondriaan Founds. She has taken part in national and international shows such as 'Deep State' by Lara Almarcegui and Martijn Hendriks (DeAteliers, Amsterdam), 'Bearable Lightness of Being' (GRIMM, Amsterdam), 'Sessile' curated by Josh Minkus (Clifford Gallery, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY), 'Disappointement Island' curated by Galeria Stereo (Griffin Art Space, Warsaw), 'The Lasting. Time Out of Mind ", by Whatspace and Jeroen Doorenweerd (2006)," Time Out of Mind "by Saretto Cincinelli (National Gallery of Modern Art, Rome), Back in 5 minutes (Martin Van Zomeren, Amsterdam) Billytown, Den Haag), 'Inside David's Thigh' organised by Nicola Martini (ROOM SERVICE, New York) and 'La Terra Bassa' (SpazioA, Pistoia).
