Foreign Ministry meet Metrocittà in Florence for

(July 4, 2017) "Living the Italian way" is the integrated promotion strategy of Italy abroad and the Metropolitan Cities represent not only the showcase of this "living" with its many specificities but can become the locomotives of a Country System, which can no longer ignore internationalization for growth and socio-economic well-being. And if we talk about locomotives, Florence is the leader. The Metropolitan City of Florence has just approved its strategic plan 2030, with the significant title "Metropolitan Renaissance" and, also with this instrument of internationalization, one of its hubs, has organized with Anci and the Foreign Ministry the first 'Metropolitan Cities Roadshow', which will be held at Palazzo Medici Riccardi on July 5. The aim of the event is twofold: to illustrate the instruments that the central institutions and the diplomatic network make available for the internationalization of the territories in their articulations and to facilitate the meeting with the latter in view of the integrated promotion of the country system. In one morning, managers and experts with entrepreneurs, craftsmen, academics and professionals will be confronted to explore three work directions (cultural and creative industry and tourist attraction, economic diplomacy tools, internationalization of scientific research, Ecological innovation) to carry on with a system's perspective: how the essence of the Renaissance resided in the perfect blend of artistic blossoming and scientific experimentation, so the metropolitan Renaissance can not ignore innovation in manufacturing, cultural industry and Services, better management of tourist flows, or scientific and technological research. The event will be opened by Benedetto Della Vedova, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; By Dario Nardella, Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Florence and coordinator of Metrocittà in Anci; by Antonio Decaro, Anci President. The Plenary Assembly, at the opening of the Roadshow, will be moderated by Vincenzo De Luca, General Manager for Country System Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci). In an international context with opportunities, but also challenges such as Brexit or the emerging economics competition, the event will be able to offer reflection ideas, ideas, tools and proposals to enable our territory to face internationalization in a system perspective. ABOUT / TABLES OF DISCUSSION

For each of the three discussion tables, drawing on the internationalization tools offered at the national level (investment attractiveness, trade and tourism promotion, research funding, some European funding lines), the territory will respond with some of the best internationalization local practices. Among them, the newborn board for internationalization, Consiglio Grandi Aziende, a survey of the platforms of the Metrocittà Florence area for tourist information and reception and the promotion of tourism services; the investment model and tourist attraction of the Castelfalfi estate; wine as ambassador of the territory; the role of University and research with testimonies of Lens and Aou Meyer.
