"Lo Schermo dell’Arte" Festival starts with Films and Installations

(July 5, 2017) "Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival" is an international project devoted to exploring and promoting the relationship between contemporary art and cinema through the presentation of films and installations, training projects, residences for international artists, production and distribution of art movies. The Festival was born in Florence in 2008 and for years it has collaborated with numerous institutions, art centers, academies and universities in Italy and abroad. The festival is now in Albania thanks to the Art House of Scutari and in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Tirana. The show - scheduled from July 7 to 9 - inaugurates the 2017 season of Art House; Guests of the event Silvia Lucchesi and Leonardo Bigazzi, co-founders of the Festival. The opening of the Festival will take place on July 7 at 7PM at Cinema Millennium. The films in the program will be in their original language, subtitled in Albanian. (Red)


ABOUT / THE PROTAGONISTS


Leonardo Bigazzi is curator at the Marino Marini Museum in Florence. He has been working since 2008 at "Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival". In addition to organizing sections and programs, he collaborates on film and meetings selection. He is co-director of the international Feature Expanded project, a training program developed with HOME (Cornerhouse) in Manchester. Silvia Lucchesi, art historian, university professor and curator of contemporary art, has worked for many years on the relationship between cinema and contemporary art and has published books and essays and organized exhibitions on this subject. Since 2008 she has been co-founder of "Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival".
