Music for the Royal Princess: soprano Raffaella Milanesi in concert

(12 July 2017) Everything is ready in Prague for the 18th edition of the International Music Festival "The Summer Festival of Ancient Music". According to the Italian Institute of Culture, the event began yesterday, July 11, and will last until August 7th. This year's edition focuses on the Versailles Palace, which at the end of the 17th and 18th centuries was not only a royal residence but also the most important music centre in France. The concert "Music for the Royal Princess", on Monday July 31st at 20:00 at Troja Castle, will feature the Italian cantata written for Maria Giuseppina of Saxony, mother of Ludovico XVI (written by J.A. Hasse, A. Vivaldi, L. Leo, J-P. Guignon and J.-Ph. Rameau) who will be interpreted by the Italian soprano, Raffaella Milanesi, accompanied by the Odyssee Ensemble (Netherlands). The concert is held in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture of Prague under the patronage of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. (Red)


RAFFAELLA MILANESI


The Italian soprano singers, completed her musical studies in Rome, her native hometown, at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in 1997. She then began a brilliant career that led her to interpret numerous operatic roles, including: Ottavia in Monteverdi's Incoronation of Poppea, Cleopatra in Handel's Julius Caesar, Eurydice in Haydn's The Soul of the Philosopher, Elettra in Mozart's Idomeneo, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Tamiri and Aminta in The King Shepherd, Servilia in The Clemency of Titus, Norina in Don Pasquale by Donizetti and Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème. She regularly performs in theaters in: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Bordeaux, Brussels, Lausanne, Luxembourg, Madrid, Montpellier, Paris, Salamanca, Toulouse, Vienna and in prestigious festivals such as Ambronay, Beaune, Eisenstadt, Innsbruck, Montpellier and Potsdam.
