Discovering Sicily with sommelier Shigeru Hayashi

(July 14, 2017) Shigeru Hayashi, a true ambassador of Italian wine in Japan. Sommelier, writer and journalist is one of the leading Japanese food and wine experts in Italy. His love for the made in Italy, was born several years ago, and has led him to publish various works on this theme, thanks to which he has received numerous awards in both Italy and Japan. He is now preparing to a conference about Italy and precisely about Sicily.) The Italian Cultural Institute of Osaka will be host him Friday July 21 (at 4:30 pm) during the appointment entitled "Discovering Sicily, Mediterranean crossroads", the expert will present the results of his research on Sicilian wines and cuisine. The study was carried out in collaboration with the Association MUSA International, I.C.S.A. (Cultural Institute Sicily Australia) and the Italian Cultural Institute of Osaka, within the "Sicilia Fusion" project. The conference will be followed by a concert by Master Fabio Barbagallo, composer and virtuoso of classical guitar. The evening will end with a buffet at "La Fete - Hiramatsu" (one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city, located on the 37th floor of the Festival Tower) orgaized by the Italo-Japanese Association of Osaka. ABOUT / WHO IS SHIGERU HAYASHI

Author of numerous publications translated into Italian and English, Hayashi was the winner of the last edition (2016) of the International Literary Award "Emozioni", created in 2013 by Giuseppe Vaccarini (Best Sommelier of the World ASI, Association of the Sommellerie Internationale, 1978) and intended for international sommelier whose publications have become a point of reference for experts, wine enthusiasts and young people who are close to the profession of sommelier.
