Environmental protection and animal welfare, Italy is the protagonist

(July 20, 2017) Once again a leading role for Italy in the International Associations that deal with environmental protection and animal welfare. Renato Lenzi, Managing Director of Zoomarine, represented the AMMPA (Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums) at the CMS Conference of Migratory Species in Bonn. Lenzi, the only Italian exponent for AMMPA, is among the world's leading marine mammalian experts with a career built in Italy and abroad and a long range of educational, scientific and managerial activities behind him. The Convention on Migratory Species is an international agreement under the aegis of the United Nations that provides a comprehensive framework and forum for the conservation of migratory animals and the sustainable use of their habitats. With representatives from more than 120 countries on 5 continents, CMS creates safeguards and promotes concerted action with agreements, resolutions and guidelines for all member states. The strong leadership and the consolidated experience of the Dolphin Discovery Group - which Rome Zoomarine Park is part of - guarantees Italy an increasingly representative and active presence in the participation in national and international forums dealing with the protection of the most vulnerable species, especially marine mammals.
