The Future Energy Expo: Friuli in Kazakhstan

(27 July 2017) Friuli Venezia Giulia is featured at the 2017 Expo Future Energy in Astana, Kazakhstan, as a Smart Land with a focus on the future of energy and strongly committed to developing innovation in every sector. The Friuli Venezia Giulia region will showcase its achievements in renewable energy sources, sustainable mobility, recycling, and energy saving at the Italian Pavilion from July 5th to August 5th. The multimedia area reserved for Friuli at the Italian Pavilion, will be inaugurated on Sunday, July 30th, in the presence of, the Italian Ambassador in Astana, Stefano Ravagnan, the municipality of Astana, and the Kazakh authorities. Among the many events during the week, a cooperation memorandum between KazakInvest and BioNet for the study and replication of an innovative organic bio-energy plant based on anaerobic digestion which will be realized in the Friulian capital will be signed on Monday, July 31st. The plant, conceived with the support of the University of Udine, will produce bio-methane for road transport, CO2 for industrial and purification purposes, and vegetable carbon, as well as electric energy and thermal energy from biogas. The event will revolve around the transcription of the protocol of the Scrittium Foroiuliense - the only Italian amanuense calligraphy school based in Ragogna. On Tuesday August 1st and Wednesday, August 2nd, the Regional Councillor for the Environment and Energy, Sara Vito, will hold a series of workshops and presentations on the various regional excellencies the 2017 Expo. The events taking place are devoted to innovative solutions for energy, water and gas, urban waste treatments, and sustainable development models for energy-efficient regional communities. (Red)


PROMOTING FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA


On the occasion of their presence in Kazakhstan, Friuli Venezia Giulia will take the opportunity to offer a 360-degree overview of the regional territory including the tourist aspect and regional food and wine. Every initiative and presentation surrounding the only region in Italy presenting excellence in organic food in the context of the 2017 Kazakhstan Expo, will include tastings of regional products such as wine, San Daniele ham, Montasio cheese and many other specialties. On Thursday, August 3rd, there will be a presentation of regional tourist resources for tour operators and Kazakh journalists.
