(31 July 2017) Puglia's music and musicians continue to travel around the world with Puglia Sounds. There are 35 projects that aim to spread the musical culture of Puglia selected in the second phase of Puglia Sounds Export 2017 for a total of 152 concerts in 32 countries. A total of 35 tours scheduled until December 15th, ranging from jazz to reggae, rock, experimental, and folk music by some of the most prominent artists from Puglia such as Sud Sound System, Roberto Ottaviano, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Kekko Fornarelli, and Kalàscima. There are also some young talents like Carolina Bubbico, Inude, Leland Did It, Misga and many more. Puglia Sounds Export 2017 has introduced the two Young and Senior categories with the aim of developing projects with fewer experiences abroad and consolidating the internationalisation of the already recognised markets in international musical markets. "We want to support the effort of our musicians to face a large audience, even abroad," commented the Councillor for Economic Development and the Tourism and Culture Industry, of Puglia, Loredana Capone. "We want to help emerging professionals and young people to export their music. We want to give them the opportunity to go beyond the physical and cultural boundaries of the region, to confront themselves with other talents, other trends, and other markets". "With these 152 concerts, which are added to the 73 already selected in 2017 from the previous deadline, we continue to increase the presence of music from Puglia in the world" states Cesare Veronico, coordinator of Puglia Sounds. This new formula of Puglia Sounds Export focuses on a larger audience and on 'Young' projects that need to be accompanied and that represent the future of the Apulian music sector". (red)
