(1 August 2017) Works of art, documents, and archival material that belong to the Italian Congregation Italian of Prague will be on exhibition for the 400th anniversary of the consecration by the Archbishop of Prague, Jan Lohelius of the Baroque Chapel dedicated to the Chapel devoted to Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo. The exhibition, curated in collaboration with Father Evermod Gejza Šidlovský from the Strahov Monastery, will be open until August 31st in the baroque Chapel of the Institute with free entrance.
THE HISTORY OF THE CONGREGATION
The Italian Congregation of Prague (originally "The Congregation of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary") active between 1573 and 1942, was an institution that played an important role in supporting Italian emigrants in Northern Europe, especially in the current Czech Republic.
