Three exceptional comic book artists represent Italy at Fête de la BD

(August 9, 2017) For the third consecutive year, Italy participates in the Fête de la BD in Brussels (Parc de Bruxelles, International Pavilion, September 1 to 3) thanks to the usual collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute and Lucca Comics & Games. The Italian stand will host three exceptional comic book artists: Giuseppe Palumbo, Mirka Andolfo and Riccardo Pieruccini. The three artists will surprise the audience with live performance and personalized dedications. Palumbo, one of the Italian cartoon masters, begins to publish comics in 1986. In 1992 he joined Martin Mystére's staff (Sergio Bonelli Editore) and in 2000 Diabolik's. He then publishes numerous works including Eternartemisia and Alemetron, produced by Palazzo Strozzi. His works are translated in French, Japanese, Greek, Spanish, Danish, Tamil, and Belarusian. He has won prizes in several Italian cities (Milan, Treviso, Rome, Naples) as best Italian cartoon designer and for some of his books. A well-known colorist and illustrator, Mirka Andolfo started publishing on the internet her first comic book, Sacred / Profane, which soon became a hit. The story was also later printed and had a huge success. Currently, Mirka is working on the series of all-female DC Bombshells for the DC Comics publishing house and to her comic Against Nature (Panini), sales champion at Lucca Comics 2016. Comic book artist, illustrator, visualizer, Pieruccini works for several Italian publishing houses on numerous projects. His latest comic, funded thanks to crowdfunding, is Prussians vs. Aliens, a savory steampunk story written by Davide La Rosa. (Red)

For its eighth edition, Fête de la BD presents some novelties: there is also Bozar, the sumptuous Palace of Fine Arts between the locations of the Festival and besides the Parc de Bruxelles.
