Research Night: Mathematics in every day life

(16 August 2017) The fifth “Research Night”, organised by the NIRC – the network of Italian researchers in Cape Town – will be held in Cape Town on August 22nd at the Italian Consulate. This year’s event titled “ResearchNight.it” will explore the practical uses of mathematics in every day life, such as romance, migration, or politics. The lectures are held in English followed by a Q&A session. All attendees will be offered a complimentary glass of wine. Fabio Bagarello, Mathematical Physics Professor at the University of Palermo will be the main speaker at the Night.


FABIO BAGARELLO

Bagarello holds a degree in Physics from the University of Palermo and a Masters degree in Elementary Particle Physics from Sissa in Trieste. He has been teaching mathematical physics at the University of Palermo since 2010. He also collaborated with universities in Japan, Canada, France, Brazil, Czech Republic, Russia, and South Africa.
