Regio Theatre of Turin at the 70th International Festival

(17 August 2017) The Regio Theatre of Turin continues to receive many invitations from other countries. After its tour to Tokyo, Shanghai, St. Petersburg, Paris, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Savonlinna, Geneva, and others; the Regio will be back in Edinburgh this year. The Edinburgh International Festival invited the Regio Theatre of Turin as part of the celebration for its 70th anniversary. It has reserved 10 days in which the Theatre will hold productions of Puccini’s La Bohème directed by Àlex Ollé, Verdi’s Macbeth directed by Emma Dante and Verdi’s Requiem. A total of 8 productions, orchestra and chorus directed by Gianandrea Noseda who studied under Claudio Fenoglio.


THEATRES

Edinburgh International Festival offers the best in the musical and theatrical landscape in Europe and abroad to celebrated its 70th anniversary. It has chosen the Regio Theatre of Turin as the Resident Company for this important milestone and the Italian Theatre as an emblem of Italian Excellence. The two operas and concerts, filling 8 evenings, are all directed by Gianandrea Noseda. At the Festival Theatre, which seats 1,915; the performances of Verdi’s Macbeth and Puccini’s Boheme were made possible by Friends of Regio with the collaboration of Alcantara. In the prestigious Usher Hall, seating 2,200 Gianandrea Noseda directed Verdi’s Requiem.
