The training course for 66 students of the Lebanese Armed Forces recently ended

(21 August 2017) A complete series of Cimic courses organised by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (Mibil) for Lebanese Armed Forces (Laf) and the National Security Forces. The intensive training session developed over four weeks at the Cimic Directorate in Beirut and the didactic course coordinated by instructors of the Multinational CIMIC Group of Motta di Livenza (TV, Italy), allowed to develop the three core functions of the Cimic Operational Function (link, strength support, support for the civilian environment), manage the complexity of the dynamics and relationships between different actors (military and non-military) in mission support, as well as forming specific "functional specialists". The trained students were 66 (including 42 officers), accurately selected among those already in operation or for future employment in the specialist branch. The course programme also saw the collateral contribution of representatives of some international organisations and non-governmental organisations such as UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), Icrc (International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent ) And March (an Ngo based in Lebanon).


MIBIL

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy to Lebanon, Massimo Marotti, the Head of the Mission, General Brigadier Salvatore Radizza and senior local military authorities. The MIBIL, which has operated in Lebanon since 2015, develops military assistance (training) to support the local Armed Forces and Security Forces, framing the broader international context that aims to support Lebanon's institutions.
