“Voci e colori della natura” (Voices and colours of nature) come to life in the works of Laura Galvagno

(11 September 2017) The exhibition “Voci e colori della natura” (voices and colours of nature) consists of 20 abstract works from 2014 – 2017 by Laura Galvagno which are profoundly inspired by nature. The exhibition will be inaugurated on September 15th in the Spazio Arte of the Italian Institute of Culture of Osaka, with the sponsorship of the Italian Consulate, and will remain open to the public until October 12th. Galvagno is an Italian self-taught painter born in Venezia and who now lives in Kobe. She rarely uses paint brushes. Instead, she paints bright and vibrant colours similar to the ones found in Venetian glass, with small branches, stones, and leaves found in nature. The light and colours that emerge from her work are not, in fact, only tied to nature but also to the vibrant chromatisms of Venetian glass that have inspired Galvagno since her childhood. Her paintings are small and almost entirely in acrylic on watercolour paper. (Red)

FABRICS AND ACCESSORIES

The original models can also be used to decorate clothing and home fabrics. Galvagno also makes accessories such as hair clips, brooches, and earrings by applying resin to the base of the models.
