(13 September 2017) Writer Alain Elkann will talk about his new book "Interviews" (Assouline) in conversation with Diane Von Furstenberg and John Micklethwait on September 20th at the Italian Institute of Culture in New York (18:00 -20:00). Diane von Furstenberg entered the American fashion world in the 1970s as she arrived in New York with a suitcase full of jersey clothes she designed. Today, Dvf is a global luxury fashion brand.   Diane is the chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (Cfda).   In 2014 her famous iconocraphic wrap-dress was celebrated with the "Journey of a Dress" exhibition in Los Angeles. She published her memoir, "The Woman I Wanted to Be", translated into five different languages. In 2015, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in Time magazine. John Micklethwait is Bloomberg's editor-in-chief responsible for the editorial content of all Bloomberg platforms, as well as of its research services. Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2015, Micklethwait was chief editor of the Economist where he led the newspaper into the transition to the digital age expanding its readership and improving its reputation. He co-authored six books, more recently "The Fourth Revolution: The Global Race to Reinvent the State". In 2010, Micklethwait was named "Editor of Editors" by the British Society of Magazine Editors. ALAIN ELKANN

Alain Elkann is an author, intellectual, and journalist, born in New York in 1950. Since 1989, has held a weekly column of interviews for the Italian national newspaper "La Stampa". His archive includes an impressive and eclectic series of celebrities, including writers, publishers, directors and actors, fashion designers and businessmen; artists, collectors, museum curators, politicians, diplomats, historical economists, philosophers, and human rights activists. His new volume collects the most relevant conversations.
