Rome at World Cities Culture Summit

Rome represented at the World Cities Culture Summit in Seoul. The deputy mayor with a delegation to Cultural Growth, Luca Bergamo will attend the plenary session on November 2nd with the Cultural Councillors of New York, Seoul, and Chengdu. Seoul will present the results of a world-wide research on the relationship between happiness / quality of life for citizens and participation in cultural life. The Cultural Councillors of the other three metropolises will debate these issues, along with the Korean South Korean representative. According to a statement by the Campidoglio, Rome will be among the leading actors in the three-day summit filled with work sessions to address different topics, such as forms of funding to culture at the city level, participatory processes for defining cultural policies, the role of art and artists for the social and cultural growth of the city, and the relationship between art, science, and new technologies.
