Italy-Lebanon: armed forces training course concluded

A new training course within the framework of the training programme the Italian bilateral military mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) which has been leading the Presidential Guard for a year, ended on Thursday with a ceremony attended by the Prime Minister and the Defense Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Beirut. In collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the Italian Military Mission also guarantees the linguistic training of the members of the presidential guard. MIBIL - which has operated in Lebanon since 2015 following a decision by the Italian government taken at the first ISG conference to support the LAF hosted in Rome in June 2014 - has trained more than one thousand members of the Lebanese Armed Forces, investing more than twenty million dollars in equipment and training by highly qualified personnel selected by the Italian Armed Forces. "Italy - according to a statement by the Italian Embassy in Beirut - confirms its support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, to increase its already excellent operational capabilities, and in early 2018, it will host a new international conference in Rome for support to the Lebanese Armed and Security Forces".
