Italian Design Day: Italian Graphics Featured in Copenhagen

The Italian Design Day (IDD) is an international event designed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Milan Triennale and the Salone del Mobile. 100 "Ambassadors of Italian design" (architects, entrepreneurs, journalists, teachers, and designers) will promote projects of excellence on March 1st, in over 100 cities worldwide. After the success of the first edition in 2017, the second March 2018 edition will be dedicated to the relationship between design and sustainability, drawing inspiration from the Broken Nature theme chosen for the XXII International Exhibition of the Milan Triennale in 2019. Italian graphics will be featured in Copenhagen thanks to the Italian design ambassador to Denmark, Marco Sammicheli (design curator and professor at Milan Polytechnic) will introduce the exhibition "Daily Act: Visual Communication and New Behavior" of graphic designer Francesco Barbaro on view from March 1st until March 31st 1 to 31 March at the Italian Institute of Culture in Copenhagen. Francesco Barbaro, winner of the Residenza d'Artista (Artist Residency) dedicated to young talents in Italian graphic design promoted by the Italian Embassy in Denmark, will present an exhibition-workshop focusing on the relationship between graphic design and sustainability. The exhibition will be introduced by a talk in English in which Peter Folkmar (Founder and Director of the POST-Copenhagen Graphic Design Festival) and graphic designer Claus Miller as well as Marco Sammicheli and Francesco Barbaro.
