Sicilian director Luca Vullo - considered an ambassador of Sicilian culture in the world - returns to Texas at the University of Dallas for the presentation of his new documentary "Dallas in Prizzi" on February 24th at 18:30 at the The Art History Building Auditorium followed by a workshop on non-verbal communication on February 27th at 13:00 at the Southwestern Medical Centre at Dallas. The private screening of the documentary "Dallas in Prizzi", organised by the Italian Programme at the University of Dallas, will be followed by a debate with the author and producer Dave Atkinson, a young American psychiatrist who lives and works in Dallas and who gave life to an artistic project that allowed the exchange between three well-known artists from Dallas and the Sicilian community of Prizzi, in the province of Palermo. In addition, professors from the University of Dallas and the University of Saint Thomas, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, will also speak at the event. The seminar on non-verbal communication, with Luca Vullo and Dr. Dave Atkinson, will aim to provide new tools to students specialising in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In particular, the workshop is aimed at physicians who assist families of psychiatric patients who do not speak English or children and adolescents who cannot communicate effectively due to anxiety or other disorders related to their strong emotions.
