An exhibition dedicated to Italian cartoonist and illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti from March 11th at the Cartoonmuseum in Basel. It is the one scheduled from 11 March to the Cartoonmuseum in Basel. The retrospective, titled "Imago", retraces the main stages of Mattotti's career, from the beginnings to the latest works, and showcases the drawings published in the book "Lorenzo Mattotti: Ligne Fragile", a series of surreal and intimate works published by Christoph Merian Verlag. Born in 1954 in Brescia, Mattotti is considered one of the greatest illustrators in the world After his first works in the early seventies, in 1976 he illustrated Huckleberry Finn, which made him popular among the public and critics. He is then later called to collaborate with Linus. In the early eighties he founded the Valvoline group with Carpinteri, Igort, and Jori. Doctor Nefasto, 1983, created with screenwriter Jerry Kramsky, who supported him in many other projects. "Fuochi", which he realises in 1984, is accepted as a historic event in the world of comics. Mattotti has also published children's books (Pinocchio), created posters and advertising campaigns, worked in fashion reinterpreting the models of the best-known designers for Vanity Fair and Glamour. He is also the author of several covers of The New Yorker and Le Monde.
