The Italian classification business RINA has acquired the American engineering consultancy firm Patrick Engineering, which specializes in infrastructure, transportation, and renewable energy. The company's headquarters are located in Chicago, it has 19 offices across the northeastern United States, 340 workers, and an annual gross revenue of around 82 million dollars. Patrick will be completely incorporated into RINA Consulting, the engineering division of the Italian firm. Ugo Salerno, president and CEO of RINA, emphasized that "thanks to Patrick Engineering and the expertise of our new American colleagues, we will have a unique opportunity to expand in the flourishing North American infrastructure industry. The purchase will also provide a foundation for expansion not just in this area, but across other business lines, making the United States one of the group's primary centres. Finally, RINA will be able to export its highly specialized skills in materials, laboratory testing, and innovative technology to other countries ". Daniel Patrick Dietzler, the founder of Patrick Engineering, remembered that the American firm has a good client portfolio, split between the public and private sectors, ranging from significant American cities' transport and public service organizations to those in heavy industry.
