Italian former PM Silvio Berlusconi was acquitted of the accusation of corruption in judicial acts in the Ruby ter case, with the formula "because the fact does not exist". Along with him, the 28 other defendants in the Milan trial were also acquitted (some by prescription for minor positions). Among them are Karima el Mahroug (known as Ruby) and the 20 young former guests of the evenings at Berlusconi’s residence in Arcore. For him, it is the third acquittal in the affair, considering the two previously collected for the strands in Siena and Rome. Not to mention that an order of the judges of November 2021 had declared the reports of at least 18 witnesses heard in the trials "unusable", as they were made by people who should have appeared in court as investigated since March 2012 and heard in court with the guarantee of texts assisted by lawyers. The non-usability of those testimonies, and therefore of the false ones, has also caused the charge of corruption in judicial acts to fall because "the alleged corrupter is missing, in the case of Berlusconi", as reported by Fabio Roia, President of the Court of Milan. “I was finally acquitted after more than 11 years of suffering, mud and incalculable political damage, because I was lucky enough to be judged by magistrates who were able to remain independent, impartial and correct in the face of the unfounded accusations that had been addressed to me,” Berlusconi said, echoed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who called the acquittal “excellent news” and was followed by many of the members of the center-right coalition.
