On March 10 in Rome, the European demonstration for Tibet will be held on the 64th anniversary of the Lhasa uprising against the Chinese occupation of March 10, 1959. On the occasion, the Tibetan Community in Italy together with the other 23 Tibetan communities present in Europe will parade under one banner, “Europe stands with Tibet.” The event will unfold along Via dei Fori Imperiali in the direction of Piazza della Madonna di Loreto, where several Tibetan speakers, parliamentarians, journalists and artists are scheduled to speak. There will also be Tibetan folk singer Loten Namling (Phayul and UsTibetan Nomads) and sisters Serlha Tawo and Youlha Tawo, who will sing “Never lose the light”. In addition to the event on March 10, there will be other events organized by the Italy-Tibet Association, the Italy-Tibet Interparliamentary Group and the Tibetan Community in Italy, to raise public awareness of the historical, human and political events in the country.
