Moby Fantasy, the world's largest passenger ferry, is about to arrive in Italy. It was delivered by China's Guangzhou Shipyard to Moby and will arrive at the port of Livorno by mid-May. In contrast, construction continues on the company's second commissioned ferry, Moby Legacy, expected by late summer. Moby Fantasy, with its blue whale painted on the side, will depart from China in the coming days and will cross two oceans before arriving in the Mediterranean where she will enter service on the Livorno-Olbia route. At 237 meters long by 32 meters wide and with a gross tonnage of 69,500 tons, the Moby Fantasy has a capacity of 3,000 passengers and 3,850 linear meters of rolling cargo. The ship, a note explains, "has been designed according to the highest standards of sustainability by adopting state-of-the-art equipment and technologies aimed at environmental protection and energy and ecological transition with the goal of reducing emissions as much as possible".
